Summer of Azure is a 3 month, part-time course designed to teach you some of the most in-demand skills of today's job market.
Best suited for those from a programming or technical background (or for those with a super determined mindset), if you want to learn some of the hottest skills in the tech industry today, this is your chance!

No programming or prior knowledge of Azure required! This course is designed for complete beginners, although a developer background would help.
Dates
The start date for the course is the 14th of November, and ends 24th February. There is a three week holiday break from the 18th of December to the 8th of January.

If you're a student, then this course is 100% FREE. If you're not a student, then the total price of the course is USD $1,200.
What defines a student? To be eligible for our programmes as a student you must have been studying at a NZ tertiary institution within the last 24 months.

Course Breakdown:
For the first 3 weeks of Summer of Azure you'll be learning Azure from the ground up. We fully expect you to enter this course with zero knowledge of Azure.
You'll get all the answers to those bothering Azure questions like... What is the best way to get a Azure job? How do I start learning Azure? What does a career in Microsoft Azure look like for me? Why does Azure have so many features? And which ones should I focus on?!
You will learn:
- What Microsoft Azure Certified professional does
- What a typical day of a Azure Architect looks like
- What sort of jobs can you get within the world of Azure certifications
- Why all these complex Azure features exist, when to use them, and how they differ from each other
- The must-know skills and concepts for being an Azure Admin
Once you understand the ins and outs of Azure, you will spend the next 2 weeks:
- Building a Real World Project
- Applying what you have learned right away
- Work with a New Zealand Company working to develop a Azure solution custom made for them
- Working with a Azure team
As part of the project, you will be submitting technical documentation and a video presentation of your work. You'll get useful feedback about how you can improve and be ready for the market!
This is a great chance for you to build up some experience and really see what being an Azure Admin is like in real life. Plus, it provides an awesome talking point in interviews as this is real Azure experience.
Fresh out of your real-world project, you'll spend 3 weeks focusing solely on how to to pass the Azure Fundamentals certification and then actually sit your exam!
We start this section of the course by booking your exam within the Exam Period of the course to keep you accountable. We will cover the cost of your exam voucher and all other practice exams during this time.
On top of the usual weekly Workshop and Q+A trainer sessions you will sit multiple Azure practice exams, get our custom study guides, notes, dictionary, and videos. There will be no shortage of material available so you can study in the way that best suits you! As well as this you can always message the trainers or your fellow cohort for help and questions at any time.
We spend the last part of the course getting you ready for the real deal. Your final 2 weeks will include:
- Practice interviews for Azure roles
- How to properly sell yourself
- Use LinkedIn to maximise your job offer potential
- Get prepared for the tech industry by learning in demand skills such as Agile Methodologies, JIRA, and more.
- Connect you to recruiters and companies that are looking for Azure talent!
Hear from, and talk to companies who are looking for Azure talent! We bring them in every week to speak exclusively to you about the careers available in the Azure eco-system. This is your chance to network with a whole heap of Azure businesses looking to hire, and meet a whole bunch of awesome people.

Nothing! This course is designed for people who know absolutely nothing about Azure - we're starting from scratch. We do recommend a background understanding of programming, Data Science, or Information Systems before starting though. The course will move quickly, and a basic understanding of developer concepts will help massively.
Yes! This course focused on the first step in Azure certifications - the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
The Azure Fundamentals certification is widely considered to be the first stepping stone in a Azure career, and is the doorway for many people with no technical background into an awesome tech industry. However, we do recommend having a basic understanding of developer concepts, and a programming, Data Science, or Information Systems background.
This course is designed for those working full or part-time jobs already. You can expect to be putting around 20 hours a week towards this course. This leaves time for any part-time work and general life activities (we love a good weekend adventure too!).
Each week is broken into 5 days of work (approximately 4 hours a day). Each day will include video snippets introducing that day's topics before getting into exercises and activities.
This 5 day structure is our recommended approach but as long as all of the work is submitted by Sunday night, the schedule is largely up to you.
There are two live workshops a week with your trainer which will be at a set time. If you cannot make them, they are recorded and posted to the classroom after the session has ended.
Absolutely! All of our sessions are recorded, so you can complete the course in entirely your own time.
We have noticed that our top performing students, and those who go on to land jobs at their dream companies, keep up with the course in live time, but it's completely up to you when and how you complete the course.
The Summer of Azure course starts on the 14th of November and finishes on the 24th of February.
The course consists of 4 main parts.
Part 1 - Introduction to Azure. You'll spend 3 weeks just getting to know Azure, and covering all the concepts of Azure for the first time. These 3 weeks will give us the skills needed for part 2.
Part 2 - The Project. You'll then spend 2.5 weeks working on a real-world scenario project. While these will be completed individually, we encourage students to work together to get speed up their learning and bounce ideas off one another.
Part 3 - The Exam. Once the project is done, we'll get straight into the exam. It's 2.5 weeks of exam prep, followed by a 1.5 week exam period. Exciting times!
Part 4 - Job Preparation. With your exam in the dust behind you, it's time to look forwards to your next steps. Whether it's a brand new job, or moving up in your current organisation, in the final 2 weeks we'll cover our top tips for starting an incredible new Azure career (and maybe even line you up with a job interview or two!).

Basically, Azure is Mircosoft's competitor to AWS and Google Cloud. It's a cloud provider, which means that it offers a bunch of different tools on the internet for supporting large businesses - particularly businesses that already use Microsoft products. The total cost of the course is USD $1,200. That includes the cost of the official Azure Certification (valued at USD $100), official Practice Exam (valued at USD $100), and additional study materials, as well as live access to a Azure Certified Instructor. For students, this course if FREE.
There sure is! We are working towards the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals Exam. The cost of this exam is usually $100 USD, but for students we've completely covered it - it's free (for non-students, the cost is covered in your course fee).
