When it comes to preparing for the exam, you have to find what works best for you and your study habits. For Cass, this was utilising our Salesforce Admin Cheat Sheets.
“I read the cheat sheet over and over again and referred back to the Salesforce Org to find all the elements in the cheat sheet and that really helped me understand the whole org and how it functions”.
Beyond the cheat sheets, it’s also important to become really familiar with the practice exams. Cass said that one of the keys to her success was spending time reviewing the practice exam and jumping back into the org to full understand each topic.
When it came to learning Salesforce and studying for the exam, doing it alone is never fun. For Cass, being part of a group and studying together gave her the motivation she needed.
Finding a Community
The Zero to 100 Salesforce Admin course from NextWork gave Cass the community she needed. Cass says that she “wouldn’t pass the exam without the course”.
Studying along can be quite draining, but with NextWork’s community of students, alumni and mentors, Cass was able to ask questions in Slack and get a response. This was really encouraging for her.
Importantly, the real-world project that Cass completed as part of her course was a massive confidence booster. Cass said that she “gained a lot more valuable experience than just taking the exam” from doing project. The project goes beyond simply what you need to know as an Admin, and Cass now has some practical experience to talk about and show off in interviews.
At the end of the day, passing the Admin exam is not easy - and it shouldn’t be! Cass found that the official exam is “fairly hard compared to the practice exam”.
However, with the help of NextWork, she was able to smash her exam on the first try. Congrats Cass!
